Reality television aside, Ray J has always tried to make his name as a singer. That wasn’t quite working and then he did a little video that ended up making him a star. And he’s still singing. Check out this excerpt from Take Back The Beat about his new song.
This one has a decidedly 90′s feel. Mostly full instrumentation back when producers could read music and write entire scores rather than beatbox into a microphone and have that serve as their score. It’s bass heavy with percussion accents that have been missing in R&B music for a while now.
