Take Back The Beat is back on the grind after doing a day of service on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and then taking yesterday to stream the Inauguration of President Barack Obama. Now back to the business at hand, reviewing hip hop music. Today, a look at Busta Rhymes’ new song. Here’s an excerpt:
In saying that, you can hear that Busta is trying to recapture past glory, while also looking forward by putting T-Pain on the track. The caveat there is that with Teddy on the song, you illicit that “him again” mentality on those who appreciate variety in music. Since there is absolutely no interaction between Trevor and Pain, you can extrapolate the thought that this collaboration was more than likely a record company decision based on their entire lack of creativity. It’s bandwagon mode at its worst.
